Colonial Foundation
The school was conceptualised to provide education for children of Asian railway workers and traders who settled in Kakamega after the gold rush period.
Opening Of The School
The institution officially opened as the Indian School of Kakamega.
Post Independence Transition
Following Kenya's independence, the school became a public institution open to learners from all communities and was renamed Kakamega Primary School.
Free Primary Education Growth
The introduction of Free Primary Education resulted in rapid enrollment growth, transforming the school into a mega public institution.
